Thailand to chair AIPA in 2019

BANGKOK, September 1 (TNA)- Thailand will chair the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in 2019. Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, President of the Thai National Legislative Assembly (NLA), told journalists on Friday that it will be Thailand's rotation to chair the AIPA in 2019. "During Thailand's chairmanship of AIPA, we'll welcome regional delegations throughout the year, as several meetings within the the AIPA framework will be organized in our country", said the NLA president. According to the NLA president, Thailand will also take a good opportunity as the AIPA chair in 2019 to play proactive roles in raising and moving forwards regional issues of mutual interest in the ASEAN Community (AC).
