Mansour Bin Zayed receives Shield of Honour from ISAM
Abu Dhabi, Feb 17, 2009 (WAM) - The International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) presented Minister of Presidential Affairs HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan with its Shield of Honour in recognition of the efforts of Sheikh Mansour in supporting various programmes for the treatment of addiction in the country.
On behalf of Sheikh Mansour Secretary General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs Ahmed Mohammed Al Husaini received the Shield from the President of ISAM Dr.Tarek Gawad who is currently visiting UAE at the head of a delegation representing the Society.
The delegation is in UAE to assess the medical services at UAE's National Rehabilitation Centre and to give necessary advice and guidance for its development.
ISAM has a mission statement that institutes an international collaboration of physicians in addiction medicine can accomplish certain ends, which are not easily achieved in the respective national settings by individual participants.
Al Humairi thanked the ISAM on behalf of Sheikh Mansour for its initiative and said that Sheikh Mansour gives all the necessary moral and material support to the programme of rehabilitation. He also insists on setting up cooperation between the National Rehabilitation Centre and the international institutions in this field with an aim of continuous improvement of the services, Al Humairi added.
