Police seeks more warrants for insurgent car robbers
SONGKHLA, Sept 8 (TNA) – Police investigators will seek the court’s approval to issue arrest warrants for eight more suspects today for their involvement in the used car robbery on Aug 16 in the southern province of Songkhla.
Among eight suspects, four of these suspects have been detained. Deputy national police chief Pol General Srivara Ransibrahmanakul also visits Songkhla today to follow up the progress of the investigation on the case.
Last month, arrest warrants were issued for six suspects. One of them turned himself in.
Six pick-up trucks were stolen from a used car dealer in Nathawee district by suspected insurgents, allegedly intend to make car bombs. All stolen vehicles were later retrieved by the police.
One suspected insurgent was gunned down by the police during the chase and a worker of the used car dealer, who was held hostage was killed by a gunman in the incident. (TNA)
