"Amazing Thailand Year 2018" to kick off Nov 2017

BANGKOK, September 8 (TNA) - The government has officially announced the "Amazing Thailand Year 2018" campaign, set from November 1, 2017 to January 1, 2019, to attract more international tourist arrivals in the Thai Kingdom. Deputy Prime Minister General Tanasak Patimapragorn called a meeting with Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul and Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Yuthasak Supasorn, as well as executives of allied public and private agencies at the TAT head office in Bangkok on Friday to discuss and share opinions on carrying out the campaign and activities to promote the Thai tourism on the sustainable basis. General Tanasak told journalists that the Thai government, through a national committee on tourism policies, has set November 1, 2017-January 1, 2019 the Amazing Thailand Year 2018, with a ceremony to officially launch the new tourism campaign to be organized in the capital on November 15, 2017. According to the deputy prime minister, the Thai government will organize 15 activities during the Amazing Thailand Year 2018, including those on sport tourism, local cuisine tourism, waterway tourism and eco-tourism, to promote the domestic tourism globally and to earn local communities more tourism-related revenues. The deputy premier called on collaboration from all sectors in the country, including airlines, shopping centers and tour operators, to help launch public relations (PR) to promote the "Amazing Thailand Year 2018" internationally.
