MCOT, FTS join forces to promote products of Thai SMEs

BANGKOK, September 11 (TNA) - MCOT Public Company Limited, an established Thai media firm, and the Federation of Thai SME (FTS) have agreed to work together to promote products of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) globally. MCOT President Khematat Paladej and FTS Chief Noppong Thiraworn signed the agreement at MCOT head office in Bangkok on Monday, aimed to help boost revenues of Thai SMEs and the national economy from the grassroots. Under the agreement, also aimed to enhance the competitiveness of Thai SMEs, MCOT will develop the content of the company's public relations (PR) programs to widely promote products of Thai SMEs and their images through the MCOT Family 14 channel. The FTS chief said, meanwhile, that there are now over 30,000 Thai SMEs and other 130 trade organizations being members of FTS and he, thus, believed that the agreed cooperation with MCOT should help Thai SMEs expand their market channels internationally, distribute more income to local communities and producers of community products to raise their quality of life, as well as drive ahead and strengthen the national economy from the grassroots. The FTS chief targeted that the gross domestic product (GDP) proportion of Thai SMEs should increase to 50 per cent of the country's overall GDP over the next five years, from 42 per cent currently. MCOT runs Thai News Agency (TNA) and MCOT television, radio and other digital news networks. (TNA)
