China-ASEAN Expo kicks off in Nanning

NANNING, Sept 12 (TNA) - The 14th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) kicked off in China’s Nanning of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. High-level officials from China and 10 ASEAN member countries jointly opened the event at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICEC). This year’s expo is held under the theme “Co-Building the 21th Century Maritime Silk Road, Promoting Regional Economic Integration through Tourism." Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, attending the opening ceremony said that the CAEXPO would help strengthen cooperation between China and ASEAN, which was the major allies, supporting China to accomplish the building of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road through tourism promotion. Meanwhile, Thai Vice Minister for Ministry of Science and Technology, Pornchai Tarkulwaranont said that Thailand’s exhibition at the CAEXPO this year focused on promoting the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) projects in Chon Buri, Rayong and Chachoengsao, which have economic potentials in trade, investment and tourism. The EEC will be developed to be the logistics hub to connect with China’s Maritime Silk Road. The CAEXPO showcases products and service and technology, charming tourist cities in China and ASEAN and this year, other countries, located on the Silk Road are also participated in the expo for the first time.
