Royal Thai Navy will organise international ship fair
BANGKOK, Sept 16 (TNA) -- The Royal Thai Navy will organise the ASEAN International Fleet Review to mark the 50th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the 4th Ship Technology for the Next Decade (Ship Tech IV) to support the Eastern Economic Corridor, on Nov 15-17.
Navy deputy commander-in-chief Adm Paladej Charoenpol said the events were set at Royal Cliff Beach Hotel in Pattaya to show advanced technologies of ships, weaponry and security systems and representatives of 58 countries confirmed their participation.
Adm Paladej said Southeast Asia was enjoying fast economic growth and was an important strategic region and in the events Thailand would show its ship technology which played important roles in supporting its Eastern Economic Corridor and protecting resources in the Gulf of Thailand.
Supervising the event organization, RAdm Samarom Chansuwan, chief of the Engineering Development Department under the Royal Thai Naval Dockyard, said the upcoming events would gather a wider range of local and international ship technologies including advanced warfare commanding systems and highly efficient machines. The events will also be a forum on technological exchange and investment ideas concerning the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project.
Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak would share his views on the EEC during the events, RAdm Samarom said. (TNA)
