In Phitsanulok’s Wang Thong district, flood prompted local residents to evacuate to temporary shelters on a road following two days of heavy rain. The swollen Wang Thong River overflowed its banks, causing extensive flooding to houses and farmlands. Parts of flood prevention wall at the Wang Thong River collapsed and pig farm owners evacuated their livestock but failed to save 50 pigs from drowning. The initial damage cost around 300,000 baht. Suppachai Iamsuwan, Phitsanulok governor said he convened a meeting with nine district chiefs in a wake of inundation in most parts of the province by influence of the tropical storm Doksuri.
