Construction of ferry terminal begins at Chuk Samet pier

CHON BURI, Sept 18 (TNA) – The construction of a new ferry terminal has begun at Chuk Samet ferry terminal in Chon Buri, as part of the government’s project to develop the Eastern Economic Corridor project. Admiral Na Areenit, Royal Thai Navy Commander-in-Chief on Monday presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new ferry terminal in the compound of the naval base in Satthahip district. Chuk Samet will be developed to serve cargo vessels, cruise and ferries, travelling across the Gulf of Thailand from eastern provinces to southern provinces. The development will support marine transportation in terms of logistics and tourism purposes. According to the Royal Thai Navy, the new ferry terminal with 6,000-square-metre space will have souvenir shops, a food court, ticket counters and boarding areas.- (TNA)
