Thai Parliament holds exhibition to celebrate Thai-Russian relations

BANGKOK, Sept 21 (TNA) – Thai Parliament is organizing an exhibition to celebrate 120th year of relations between Thailand and Russia. Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, President of the National Legislative Assembly presided over the opening of the exhibition to celebrate the 120th year anniversary of Thai and Russian diplomatic ties. Russian Ambassador Kirill Barsky attended the ceremony today. Mr Pornpetch said about the bilateral relations during the past 100 years that the two countries were not allies but there was no confrontation. Moreover, after the end of the Cold War, the relations have been greatly strengthened and Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a historic visit to Thailand as the guest of Their Majesties late King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit. The exhibition features the history of Thailand and Russia establishing their ties in the era of King Rama V. Apart from the exhibition, cultural exchange activities will be held through local performances of the two countries. (TNA)
