Four defense volunteers killed in Pattani’s bombing
PATTANI, Sept 22 (TNA) – Four defense volunteers were killed in a bombing during their routine patrol in the violence province of Pattani Friday morning.
Six others, including one soldier, four defense volunteers and a woman were wounded and remain hospitalized.
According to the investigation, a remote controlled bomb was buried underground on a road in Sai Buri district. The explosion destroyed their pickup truck.
The Army Chief and the 4th 4 Army Region Commander expressed condolence to families of the dead officials and ordered full compensation for their families and the injured, said Pramote Prom-in spokesman for security forces in the region.
The spokesman said militants staged violence without thinking of people’s livelihood to dampen efforts to bring peace and economic development in the deep south.
Officials were instructed to adopt a proactive approach to track down attackers and to step up security for the safety of local people. (TNA)
