HUNGARIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Mongolia Mihaly Galosfai presented his letter of credence to President Kh.Battulga on October 3. Following the ceremony, the President met Ambassador Galosfai to exchange views on bilateral relationship with emphasis on two specific issues. Firstly, President Kh.Battulga touched upon the renovation project of BioKombinat, an issue he brought up at his meeting with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban during his working visit to Hungary last September. During the President’s meeting with the Hungarian Prime Minister, sides deliberated about an USD 25 million loan agreement designated to finance the project Renovation of Equipment of State-owned Company BioKombinat. Although the loan agreement was signed in 2010, the project hasn’t been carried out. As such, the sides agreed to clarify the reasons why the project wasn’t carried out and furthermore, take measures to resume the project. According to President Kh.Battulga, the project will help improve domestic animal health and increase export of animal-origin raw products, leading to upgrade in the livelihood of more than 160 thousand herding households. “The project is important to diversification of Mongolia's economy,” the President said. Kh.Battulga also expressed his position that the renovation of the BioKombinat should be a priority for the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of the new Cabinet. Ambassador Galosfai expressed his satisfaction with being able to contribute to the project, citing the project’s potential benefit to both sides. The second issue brought up by the Mongolian President was the exchange of expertise in film industry. President Kh.Battulga emphasized the significant role of film industry in promoting Mongolia abroad as well as encouraging patriotic upbringing among the younger generation. Having previously worked in Mongolia, Ambassador Galosfai informed that he has Mongolian family and friends and extensive knowledge about Mongolia. The Ambassador expressed his readiness to put diligent efforts to intensify bilateral cooperation. Present at the meeting were MP J.Batzandan, Head of Mongolia-Hungary inter-parliamentary group, Z.Enkhbold, Chief of Staff of the President, Acting Deputy Minister B.Battsetseg and representatives of Embassy of Hungary in Ulaanbaatar.
