NUM CELEBRATING ITS 75TH ANNIVERSARY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National University of Mongolia (NUM) will celebrate its 75th anniversary on October 5-6. In the scope of the anniversary events, including celebration meetings, signing of cooperation agreements, a gala concert and sports festivals. By the schedule, the NUM Investment Forum-2017 will be held in Shangri-La Hotel on October 5. It will present investment and developmental programs and projects on expanding the domestic and external cooperation of the university and boosting the development. Over 150 foreign and Mongolian representatives are expected to attend the forum. The same day, a new library of the NUM will open on October 5. A total amount of MNT 16 billion spent on this new library project. The 7-storey modern and fully equipped library has two wings and collects 420 thousand books. Other forthcoming events included a ceremonial reception for senior teachers retired from the university. The NUM is top leading university of Mongolia which prepared more than 100 thousand professionals since its establishment. The NUM was awarded the Order of Labor Merit of Mongolia in 1957 on the occasion of its 15th anniversary. As of today, the NUM has five schools and two branches in Orkhon and Zavkhan provinces, 44 departments and three national research institutes. It is the center of Mongolian education sector which prepares professionals in degrees of Bachelor, Master and Doctor. More than 20 thousand students are studying and 1500 doctors, professors respected in their fields and staffs are working now. The university has been conducting activities under a new structure and organization from the academic years of 2014-2015. Besides, reform on strategy for development plan until 2020 has been approved. E.Altanzul
