Clean-up operation around Grand Palace

BANGKOK, Oct 6 (TNA) – About 1,600 city hall workers and volunteers launched a clean-up campaign around the Grand Palace and Ratchadamneon Road in preparation for rehearsals of processions of the royal cremation ceremony on Saturday. After the period to allow people to pay respects to the royal urn at the Dusit Maha Prasat Thronehall ended yesterday, today, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has dispatched workers to clear all waiting tents and to clean streets and pavements. The metropolitan police will close traffic on 18 roads around the Grand Palace before the first rehearsal of the royal procession to carry the royal urn from the Grand Palace to Sanam Luang will be conducted tomorrow. The public are allowed to view the rehearsal of the procession tomorrow, but they have to enter Sanam Luang through screening points and can only watch from surrounding areas. (TNA)
