Government mulls to extend exhibition period on Royal Cremation of late Thai King

BANGKOK, November 13 (TNA) - The Thai government may ask for a royal approval to extend the period for public visits to the ongoing exhibition on the Royal Cremation of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej until the end of this year. Thai Deputy Prime Minister Tanasak Patimapragorn told journalists on Monday he has been informed that there have been more than 600,000 people visiting the exhibition on the Royal Cremation of the late and beloved Thai King, after it was inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on November 2. General Tanasak said the number of international visitors to the ongoing exhibition has reached about 60,000 during the weekends and 30,000-40,000 during the weekdays so far. According to the deputy premier, he is considering to propose that Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha ask for a royal approval of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun to extend the period for public visits to the exhibition until the end of this year, with a conclusion, whether the written proposal will be submitted to the prime minister, expected to be announced by November 15. The deputy premier, meanwhile, praised people who wore Thai clothes during their visits to the exhibition of the Royal Cremation of the late and revered Thai monarch as behaving as role models, lauding as well for cooperation from all parties, including international visitors, to maintain good order at the grand exhibition.
