NATIONAL PROGRAM APPROVED TO SUPPORT RIGHTS AND DEVELOPMENT OF DISABLED PEOPLE

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on November 29, the Cabinet approved the National Program on supporting rights of disabled people, their participation and development and action plan of the program. In this regard, Labor and Social Protection Minister S. Chinzorig was assigned to supervise and control over its implementation. The program aims at making actual changes in the quality of disabled people's lives by means of disseminating knowledge and awareness about rights of disabled people to the society, reflecting issues of disabled people in the government and local policies and developing a service structure for them. The program targets to resolve high-priority issues of disabled people, such as improving access to health and education services, employment and social engagement, public transportation and accommodation. Related ministers and governors of aimags and Ulaanbaatar city were given orders to project required financing for the program implementation in the annual basic direction to develop socio-economy and the state and local budgets and to finance the program by means of iloans and assistance from international organizations.
