NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF RETAIL TRADERS TAKES PLACE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A national conference of retail traders ‘Ikh khuree-2017’ was held on December 25. The conference was co-organized by Mongolian Retail Traders Union, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Municipal Administration and GS1Mongolia NGO and attended by small and medium sized enterprises. The attendees expressed their views and opinions on the ways to tackle pressing issues they face and how to bring service quality to the world standard. Discussions were held under the topics financial issues of suppliers, retail trade and technological advancement, innovation and investment. New ideas that can be introduced in retail trade and to broaden the business were presented by young leaders who are successfully working in the fields of trade, marketing, technology and innovation. Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs G.Ulziisaikhan informed about the establishment of Japan-Mongolia Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and Memorandum on Establishing Economic Partnership Agreement with China. He noted the Technology and Innovation Information Research Council was found at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expressed its readiness to cooperate with the SMEs in broadening their businesses and developing their foreign relations. Advisor of the Retail Traders Union D.Narantuya stressed legal environment has been lacking in running retail trade. The conference attendees agreed to establish chain stores with national characters to compete with foreign chain stores, noting the necessities of attracting investment to it and introduction of new technologies.
