PRESIDENT THANKS SURGEONS OF ‘HEART SAVING PROJECT’ NGO

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/On December 24, President Kh.Battulga expressed a heartfelt gratitude to surgeons of ‘Heart saving project’ NGO of Japan, who are conducting surgeries at the National Research Center for Maternal and Child Health. At the meeting, the President said, “Thanks to the Heart Saving Project, which started its operation in Mongolia in 2001, saved lives of many children. A study reveals one in hundred children in Mongolia has heart deformity. Due to air and environmental pollutions, the number is likely to rise. I have been collaborating with the project for many years as it is non-profit for children's health project. I will continue my support.” Since 2001, the project worked in 21 aimags of Mongolia, involved about 6,000 children in heart diagnosis and gave more than 560 children a free of charge heart operations to save their lives. The project completed touring 21 aimags and is now working at the National Research Center for Maternal and Child Health. M. Unurzul
