YOUTH DEVELOPMENT LAW ENTERS INTO FORCE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The law on promotion of youth development has entered into force starting from January 02, which was adopted by the Parliament in May, 2017.
Youths make up 34.6 percent of the total population of Mongolia. Accordingly, the law was adopted with aims to support youths and create favorable environment to study and develop for them. Comprised of 7 chapters and 25 articles, the law determines legal basis to support youth development, their engagement in social development, and regulate relations regarding their rights and duties.
According to the law, qualified students for universities will be able to get student development loan from the Education Loan Fund, health services will be provided to students and pupils regardless their residence locations and youth development centers will be built. Moreover, private companies will take responsibility to provide students with part-time jobs. Specifically, companies with more than 100 workers should create part-time places for students equalling five percent of their total workers.
Furthermore, the Mongolian National Broadcaster should have TV program dedicated to youth' development as well as apartment projects for young families should be implemented enabling them to buy or rent apartment with flexible conditions affordable to their income.
