HEALTH MINISTER MEETS AMBASSADOR OF CUBA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Health D.Sarangerel met Ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia Raul Delgado Concepcion on January 15. At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Delgado Concepcion emphasized medical sector is one of the most appropriate sectors to broaden cooperation between the two countries and he presented actions, initiatives and works being done to develop cooperation in medical sector. It is possible to supply medicines for diabetes, hepatitis and cancer that are produced in Cuban Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, said the Ambassador. Delegation of the Center worked in Mongolia in March, 2017, organizing joint trainings, seminars and establishing cooperation documents, he mentioned. Moreover the Ambassador underlined it is effective to take actions of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and examination for diabetes and hepatitis in complex. Cuba is developing 13 types of vaccines against cancer and intends to become the country free of cancer by 2050 with help of vaccination of its population. Minister D.Sarangerel expressed her acceptance of the collaboration proposals with pleasure and she noted that development of health sector of Cuba is well recognized for Mongolians as dentists who graduated in Cuba are leading the sector.
