KCNA Commentary Censures U.S. Military Acts Coiling up Regional Tension

Pyongyang, January 24 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is persistently resorting to the dangerous military acts of going against the aspiration of the public at home and abroad for detente on the Korean Peninsula. From the beginning of this year the U.S. successively sent nuclear carrier flotillas and nuclear strategic bombers to the vicinity of the peninsula. It announced that it would conduct two ICBM test-fires next month. This can never be allowed as it is a revelation of the sinister intention to block the improvement of the inter-Korean relations and aggravate the situation in the region. Peace and security on the Korean Peninsula are directly linked with world peace and security. That is why the international community hails the climate for the improvement of the inter-Korean relations provided thanks to our proactive proposal and calls for encouraging and promoting it. Contrary to this, the U.S. openly increases the military pressure upon the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and unhesitatingly upsets the balance of armed forces in the region. The DPRK will never allow any act of wrecking peace and security in the Peninsula but will decisively counter it. The U.S. should always remember that the entire Korean nation and international community vigilantly watch the sinister military acts of deliberately aggravating the situation. -0-
