MONGOLIA A HIGHLIGHT COUNTRY IN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL IN VESOUL

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Mongolia was selected as a country of highlight in the 24th International Film Festival of Asian Cinema which took place from January 30 to February 6 in Vesoul, France. Therefore, the Mongolia’s Embassy to French Republic co-organized the festival. Ninety movies from 22 different Asian countries, of which 17 were Mongolian features, were screened at the festival. As special guests of the festival, Mongolian famous movie director G.Jigjidsuren, director D.Byambasuren and singer G.Myagmarsuren participated in the festival. Movie director G.Jigjidsuren introduced his trilogy ‘Close to death’ in Vesoul. In the scope of the festival, the Embassy of Mongolia hosted an event ‘Evening of Mongolia’ on February 2. During the event which attracted many guests, cultural performance and quiz competition on Mongolia were organized. As Mongolia was a highlight country of the festival, a Mongolian ger, national dwelling was erected inside the fence of Vesoul city administration to promote Mongolian customs and lifestyle until the end of the festival.
