Art Performance Celebrates Day of Shining Star

Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- An art performance celebrating the Day of the Shining Star was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Friday. Enjoying it were senior party and government officials, the chairman of a friendly party, officials of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, armed forces organs, the Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons and women of merit from Jagang Province and officials of institutions and industrial establishments, labor innovators and working people in Pyongyang. Among the audience were congratulatory groups and delegations of overseas compatriots including a congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan. Present on invitation were representatives of foreign embassies and international organizations here and their spouses, military attaches and their spouses and other foreign guests. The performers sang high praises of the revolutionary life and feats of leader Kim Jong Il who laid an eternal foundation for prosperity of Kim Il Sung's Korea and happiness of posterity by making the forced march of field guidance day and night with his iron will, out of the high sense of obligations before the country and the revolution. Mixed duet and chorus "Cheers of the People" and chorus "Song of Socialist Advance" marked the climax of the performance, pieces that sang of the joy and happiness of the Korean people dynamically advancing toward the final victory of socialist cause under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. -0-
