DEVELOPMENT CENTER FOR DISABLED CHILDREN TO OPEN IN 2019

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga got acquainted with construction process of the Development center for disabled children being built in Bayangol district. The center is being constructed with USD 35 million grant from the Government of China covering 20 thousand square meter area. The center will consist of reception, rehabilitation department and rehabilitation training center and will receive 250 patients daily. After being introduced to the construction process President Battulga said “During the meetings with rural and capital city citizens, issues of disabled people and children were addressed and criticized, thus I decided to visit the center. This center will be the first center for disabled children. It’s necessary to improve existing professionals' skill and train more for the center’s staff.” Project executor-Chinese company authorities said that they are paying attention on improving technology of Mongolia and has bought large quantities of products and materials from the local community. According to the report from the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, about 8000 disabled children out of 14000 were born with birth defects in Mongolia. Thanks to the center, precise examination and analysis on preventing birth defects will be made. It will also reduce treatment cost for disabled children. The construction work of the development center started in 2016 and will be complete in this December and put into operation in the first quarter of 2019. B.Misheel
