PRODUCTION OF GREENHOUSE FARMING INCREASES BY 10 PER CENT

Dornogobi /MONTSAME/ Farmers of Dornogobi aimag intend to increase greenhouse farming this year. They made greenhouse cultivation on 8109 square meter areas last year, harvesting 24 tons which is 10 per cent higher compared to the previous year. In 2016, an Agro park was established in Dornogobi aimag in the frames of program ‘Mongol Potato’ funded by the Government of the Czech Republic and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The farmers succeeded to grow a new sort of tomato named ‘Tolstoy’ and two new sorts of cabbage and three different sorts of cucumber, based on the Agro park. The local farmers are now working on building a new greenhouse which can run throughout the year, launching project themed ‘Providing needs from own yard’, intensifying implementation of sub-program Dornogobi watermelon and experimenting to plant new sorts of fruits.
