INNER MONGOLIAN RESEARCHERS TO CONDUCT STUDY ON CHAHAR PEOPLE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa received today Inner Mongolian researchers of Chahar study (Tsahar). The researchers intend to study Chahar people inhabiting across Mongolia and write a book named ‘The Chahar around the world’. As for Mongolia, Chahar people are living in Arkhangai, Bayan-Ulgii, Khovd and Uvs provinces whereas the researchers discovered that they are also living in aimag and khoshuus of Inner Mongolia and Ulan-Ude. The Inner Mongolian researchers requested Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa to show policy support to their study in the frames of the policy ‘One Road- One Culture’ and asked her to connect them with Mongolian cultural organizations. The researchers set an aim to register heritage and culture of the Chahar in the UNESCO if their study succeeds. The sides talked about tradition and culture of ‘Open Tent Festival’ inherited from Outer Mongolians and the researchers put a proposal to revive the custom. In ancient times, king and aristocrats used to see festivals and big events from inside of an open tent and this culture is still existing in some countries. “Interestingly, watching from inside of open tent itself is culture,” the researchers noted.
