DPRK Bags 19 Gold Medals at 2018 Asian Weightlifting Championships

Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- DPRK weightlifters won 19 gold medals and 3 silver medals at the 2018 Asian Junior and Juvenile Weightlifting Championships in Uzbekistan. The championships started on April 20, bringing together more than 240 men and women players from at least 22 countries and regions including the DPRK, India and Thailand. Ri Suk, Kim Il Gyong and Kim Kyong Ryong of the DPRK placed first in snatch, jerk and total of junior and juvenile women's 53kg, 58kg and 69 kg categories, each bagging six gold medals. Pak Jin Hae came first and second in juvenile and junior women's 48kg snatch, securing one gold medal and one silver medal, and Choe Kyong Sun took the second place in the snatch of junior and juvenile women's 63kg category, bagging two silver medals. -0-
