14th National Machine Design Festival Opens

Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) -- The 14th National Machine Design Festival opened with due ceremony at the Sci-Tech Complex on Monday. Attending the festival were designers, teachers, researchers, technicians and three-revolution team members from at least 110 units including professional design institutions, educational and scientific research institutions. Presented to the festival are over 600 designs of machinery and equipment and design programs necessary for updating machine plants and putting various sectors of national economy on IT and scientific basis. During the festival, there will be a multi-dimensional designing competition and a prize contest for improving the scientific level of designing and a lecture on the current development of machine designing and technical exchange. Present at the opening ceremony were Vice-Premier of the Cabinet Kim Tok Hun, Minister of Machine-building Industry Ri Jong Guk, officials concerned and working people. -0-
