Mangyongdae Prize Sports Games Close

Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) -- The Mangyongdae Prize Sports Games for celebrating the Day of the Sun closed with due ceremony at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on Monday. Men and women players of the April 25 Sports Team, the Defense Sports Team of the Korean People's Army, Amnokgang Defence Sports Team, the Ryongnamsan Sports Team and the Amnokgang Sports Team renewed national records at the events of weightlifting, shooting, swimming and athletics of the games which were opened on April 2 to mark the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Men players of the Kigwancha Sports Team and women players of the Wolmido Football Team respectively came first in the football matches, men and women players of the April 25 Sports Team in the basketball matches and men and women players of the April 25 Sports Team in the volleyball matches. Present at the closing ceremony were Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials concerned, sportspersons and working people, youths and students in Pyongyang. -0-
