ULAANBAATAR AND SEOUL CITY TO COOPERATE IN HOUSING PROJECTS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor of capital city S.Batbold received U Sung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Korea on May 3. At the meeting, Governor of capital city S.Batbold said that Mongolia and the Republic of Korea have been maintaining friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1990s. Bilateral relations have been developing in the frames of the ‘Comprehensive partneship’. Ulaanbaatar city is expanding its brotherhood relations and cooperation with over 40 cities of the world among which brotherhood relations with Seoul city since 1995. He also noted that Seoul city is making concrete contribution to the cooperation between the two countries by collaborating with the State Housing Corporation in frames of activities to reduce air pollution of Ulaanbaatar city and conducting a research on implementing apartment project. In May, Mayor of Namyangju city and delegates will visit Ulaanbaatar. Moreover, Ulaanbaatar city in cooperation with Namyangju city will realize a project ‘Forest of Namyangju Dasan’ in the National Garden Park for ten years. Afterwards, Ambassador U Sung said that the Republic of Korea and Mongolia are co-implementing many programs and projects and the Korean side is agree with implementation of projects on reducing air pollution and intensifying targeted works. Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation of the Seoul Metropolitan is interested in cooperating with Ulaanbaatar city. He also expressed his satisfaction with realizing the project ‘Nightlight Street’ in Seoul Street and making it as one of the prime area in which tourists and youths can spend their free time. “30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea will fall in 2020, We will cooperate with Mongolia in many sectors and further intensify the cooperation,” Ambassador U Sung noted.
