MINING MINISTER WORKS IN EASTERN AIMAGS

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry D.Sumiyabazar worked in Dornod and Sukhbaatar aimags on May 4-6 to see operations of companies that extract mixed metals, coal and oil. On the first day of the working visit, the Minister and accompanying officials became familiar with operations of ‘Shin Shin’ Company which extracts and concentrates zinc ore and lead from Ulaan and Mukhar deposits in Dashbalbar soum of Dornod aimag. The Minister saw conditions of concentrating workshop, waste dam and working condition of the company employees. Shin Shin Company has extracted 1.15 million tons of ore and concentrated 1.25 million tons of ore between 2016 and April 30 this year. It also produced 73147 tons of zinc and lead concentrate and exported to China. As of today, there are about 680 Mongolians working in the company and contract company. During the meeting, the company authority said that it starts raising salary of Mongolian workers from last month and plans to sign a cooperation contract with Dornod aimag’s administration. In addition, they reported about the company’s pressing issues, such as insufficient supply of energy which makes a barrier to operate the plant with full capacity. The Minister assigned the company authority to cooperate with local administration, raise the salary of Mongolian workers to ensure their constant employment, strictly follow Mongolian laws and regulations and operate harmless to environment.
