Turkish president condoles with Iran over Ahvaz deadly attack

Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA – Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan extended condolences over the Saturday terrorist attack in southwestern Iran, Turkish Media Daily Sabah reported. According to Daily Sabah 'Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan conveyed his condolences to the people and government of Iran following the armed attack.' 'With such incidents, the sensitivities in the region grow,' he added. Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Ministry in a statement announced 'We have learned with great sorrow that a terrorist attack targeted a military parade in the city of Ahvaz that resulted in the loss of many lives and left many wounded.' 'We strongly condemn this heinous terrorist attack. We wish Allah's mercy upon those who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to the wounded. We convey our condolences to the people and Government of Iran,' the statement reads. At least 25 people were killed and more than 60 others injured during Saturday morning terror attack in Ahvaz which took place during a military parade held to mark the 38th anniversary of an eight-year imposed war against Iran. The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack. Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a message to the bereaved families of the martyrs of the terrorist attack urged intelligence forces to track down and prosecute the culprits. Also Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message on Saturday promised swift and decisive response to the terrorist attack. 'Terrorists recruited, trained, armed & paid by a foreign regime have attacked Ahvaz. Children and journos among casualties. Iran holds regional terror sponsors and their US masters accountable for such attacks.
