Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with CSTO counterparts in New York

Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2018. /Kabar/. Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev participated in the working meeting of the foreign ministers of the CSTO member-states in New York, United States, during which an exchange of views on topical items of the international agenda took place, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. In addition, within the framework of the meeting, issues of practical cooperation between the delegations of the CSTO member-states and their priorities during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly were discussed. Joint statements of the foreign ministers of the CSTO member-states on intensifying CSTO cooperation with regional organizations, on efforts to stabilize the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as on the situation in Afghanistan, the strengthening of the positions of ISIS in the northern provinces of the country and the growth of the drug threat from the territory IRA. The issue of the preparations for the forthcoming session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, at which the chairmanship in the Organization will pass from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan for the next intersessional period, also became a subject of discussion.
