Christie’s in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) anticipate the opening of Magnificent Pearls

Manama, Mar. 26(BNA): Christie’s and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) are set to welcome visitors to the opening of Magnificent Pearls Exhibition to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Bahrain Bay from 28-31 March 2019. Magnificent Pearls is one of the largest pearl exhibitions ever organized and open to the public. A selection of more than 50 exceptional pearls and other jewelry, all certified by DANAT, will be displayed at the event. The exhibition, which has been welcomed by both Christie’s and DANAT, represents a step forward in the Kingdom’s initiatives aimed at supporting and developing the local and regional pearl and gemstone industry. The Chief Executive of Danat, Kenneth Scarratt highlighted DANAT’s significant role in the certification process of the pearls and jewelry that will be displayed in the exhibition, adding that the procedures increases confidence in the Kingdom’s capabilities as an international destination for pearl and gemology certification, research and studies. Scarratt went on to express DANAT’s appreciation for the support provided by HRH the Crown Prince, and added that DANAT is delighted to host the exhibition, and is looking forward to welcoming pearl enthusiasts and collectors to the event. As a world-class pearl testing facility, DANAT has played a vital role in expanding and supporting initiatives across the Kingdom’s pearling industry. Established in 2017 under the aegis of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, DANAT continues to play a role in ensuring, protecting and enhancing public trust in pearls, and jewelry locally and regionally.
