Duke of York visits Royal University for Women

Manama, Mar. 26 (BNA): The University of Bahrain has celebrated the launch of cooperation with the International Platform for Digital Skills Development "IDEA", which is under the initiatives of HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York, aimed at encouraging the youth learning and entrepreneurship. HRH Prince Andrew honoured 37 students from the English Language Center at the University of Bahrain, who won the bronze badge through their participation in the IDEA competition. Minister of Education, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, praised the university's cooperation with the International Platform for Digital Skills Development, one of the most important initiatives of HRH Prince Andrew in the field of field of digital education, which offers the students the opportunity to develop their skills in projects innovation and entrepreneurship, consequently promoting their chances in labour market. The minister highlighted Bahrain’s keenness to benefit from international initiatives to boost educational services in the higher education field. He noted the progressing friendship relations and cooperation between Bahrain and the United Kingdom in various areas. President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Yusuf Hamza, welcomed the role of HRH Prince Andrew in encouraging the youth learning and entrepreneurship. He said the Platform programme is available to students to improve their aptitudes in solving problems and innovation thinking. HRH Prince Andrew and Chancellor of British University of Huddersfield toured the Royal University for Women in the presence of Education Minister and officials. A letter of intent between the two universities was singed to promote cooperation.
