Bahrain hosts international sustainable energy forum

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): Bahrain will host the "International Sustainable Energy Event (iSEE): Fostering Bahrain’s Sustainable Future", on April 17-18. "The event represents an exclusive opportunity to promote Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency initiatives that will provide a platform for investment in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, these projects represent unique economic investment opportunities in a flourishing economy as well as significant business and social development opportunities". This is very much in line with the directions of the political leadership in Bahrain, said Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Electricity and Water. The event will be held under the minister's patronage in collaboration between Bahrain’s Sustainable Energy Centre (SEC), the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE), "In this regard, integration of Renewable Energy and increasing Energy Efficiency, based on both planned and implemented initiatives, are determining factors for achieving a sustainable future and accelerated economic growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain", added the minister. The event will bring together international, regional and local experts with the aim of creating a forum for the exchange of ideas and to spread knowledge and best practices on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency policies, technologies and financing mechanisms among professionals, experts and developers. The event will also include an exhibition to show-case state of the art technology innovations and developments in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency sectors for viewing and business networking.
