Bahraini-French relations lauded

Manama, Apr. 7 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh received today French Senator Olivier Cadic, in the presence of French Ambassador to Bahrain Cécile Longe, Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, Second Deputy Chairman Hala Ramzi Fayez and Deputy Head of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Nanci Ayli Khadhouri. The Shura Council Chairman hailed the visit, lauding Bahraini-French relations. He pointed out the importance of the visit in getting informed about the kingdom's democratic achievements and boosting bilateral cooperation in the legislative field. He also underlined the need to promote ties of friendship and cooperation with the legislative councils to avail of their experiences and achievements to further boost the kingdom's democratic march and serve Arab and international issues. The Shura Council Chairman affirmed that Bahrain has always set a model in religious tolerance and respect of various doctrines thanks to the humanitarian and civilisational initiatives adopted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also stressed that the world is in dire need nowadays for effective tolerance and positive co-existence more than ever before. He pointed out that Bahraini women have become a main pillar of legislative development in Bahrain, citing their achievements like presiding the Representatives Council and taking up leading posts.
