GM`s Korean unit to showcase plug-in hybrid at Seoul Motor Show
SEOUL, March 30 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean unit of General Motors Corp. said
Monday it will show off a version of the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid car at an
auto industry fair this week.
GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. said it will be the first time that the Volt,
which is expected to go into mass production in 2010, has been on display at an
auto show in Asia.
The Seoul Motor Show, where the Volt will be exhibited, will be open to the
public from Friday to April 13 at an exhibition center in the city of Goyang,
north of Seoul.
The Volt, which is designed to be rechargeable at conventional electricity
outlets, will be able to run 64 kilometers on battery power alone and then an
internal combustion engine will generate power to help it increase driving range.
