S. Korea launches Web site for June ASEAN summit

SEOUL, April 1 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's foreign ministry said Wednesday that it has launched a Web site to provide detailed information on an upcoming summit with Southeast Asian nations in early June.

Under the slogan, "Partnership for Real, Friendship for Good," the inaugural
event to be held on South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju from June 1-2
will bring together leaders from South Korea and 10 ASEAN member nations --
Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines,
Singapore and Vietnam.
The summit is part of Seoul's efforts to bolster ties with the group.
The ministry said the Web site, www.asean-roksummit2009.kr, provides a general
introduction on the upcoming summit, the venue, lodgings, additional events, and
South Korea-ASEAN relations.
Government officials and media hoping to take part in the event can sign up for
registration on the site, it added.
The ministry has launched a separate blog, http://blog.naver.com/asean_korea, to
allow Internet users to share information pertinent to food, culture, and other
details.
