Chargé d'Affaires participates in Iftar banquet for OIC countries’ representatives in Rome

Rome, May 30 (BNA): Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of Italy, Hussain Mohammed Alam, participated in the annual fast - breaking (Iftar) banquet, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy in honour of the representatives of the member- countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). During the reception, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the representatives of the OIC countries. He thanked them for accepting the invitation, noting the importance of the values of communication and tolerance among the peoples of the world countries, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. The Italian minister affirmed that all religions renounce violence and extremism, and expressed hope that peace and harmony would prevail among the peoples of all sects and religions. A statement was given on behalf of the representatives of the OIC countries, Arab League and the Islamic Centre in Rome in which the role of the Republic of Italy in promoting the principles of cooperation and peaceful coexistence was praised. The Italian Foreign Minister and the ambassadors welcomed the participation of the chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the first time in this annual banquet, looking forward to closer cooperation among all accredited states in Italy.
