Hite Brewery`s exports to Japan surge in 2008
SEOUL, April 2 (Yonhap) -- Hite Brewery Co., South Korea's biggest brewer, said
Thursday that its exports to Japan more than doubled last year from a year
earlier thanks to increased distribution channels and localization of its
products.
The brewer's shipments to Japan came to US$16 million in 2008, compared with $7
million the previous year, Hite Brewery said.
"The rise in exports to Japan resulted from efforts to adjust our product to suit
Japanese tastes and expand distribution channels in Japan," the company said.
Hite Brewery dominates South Korea's beer market with a 60-percent market share.
