Eximbank secures US$500 mln credit line from U.S.

SEOUL, April 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's state-run trade bank said Thursday it
has clinched a US$500 million credit line from its U.S. counterpart to help local
companies pursue environmentally-friendly projects.
Under the deal, the Export-Import Bank of the United States will provide soft
loans for a maximum of 15 years, the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Eximbank) said
in a statement. The lender did not provide details on the interest rate.
The money secured will be used to service trade financing for local eco-friendly
firms that adopt U.S.-made renewable-energy equipment and to support
environmental projects carried out in other countries, Eximbank said.
The state lender also said it has agreed with the Inter-American Development Bank
to jointly invest $2 billion in Latin American infrastructure projects over the
next three years.
