Minister receives UNDP resident representative

Manama, June 19 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa today received Stefano Pettinato, who presented his credentials as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)'s Resident Representative to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The minister welcomed the UNDP resident representative to Bahrain, affirming the Kingdom’s keenness on enhancing its cooperation with the United Nations and its agencies, within its policy of openness, communication and collective work and its recognition of the importance of the UN role. He also commended the programs and initiative of the UNDP that aim to support sustainable development across the globe, wishing the UNDP resident representative success in his duties. For his part, Stefano Pettinato expressed his pleasure to have met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirming his keenness to bolster joint cooperation at all levels. He also wished the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
