NIHR chief receives UK Conservative Party deletion

Manama, June 27 (BNA): Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Maria Khoury, received here today former member of the UK House of Commons, and current Director of the Conservative Middle East Council. Charlotte Leslie, and member of the Conservative Party, Skandar Keynes, Member of the Council of Commissioners, Rawdha Al-Aradi, and NIHR’s Secretary-General, Chancellor Ghanim Shaheen, were present. Khoury briefed the delegation about the NIHR’s goals, and terms of reference as stipulated in its establishment law according to the Paris Principles, as well as its way of dealing with human rights issues at the local and international levels. She also highlighted the “positive” steps taken by the kingdom to consolidate and protect human rights at all levels. The two sides also discussed the continuous cooperation and coordination between the NIHR and the Conservative Middle East Council on topics related to human rights, within the framework of the depth of the distinguished relations between them.
