Iran, Venezuela turning to global poles: Chavez

Tehran, April 5, IRNA

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said that Iran and Venezuela are
turning to two international poles and global powers.

He made the remarks while addressing a joint press conference with his
Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held at the end of his
four-day visit to the Islamic Republic.

He said that the presidents of Iran and Venezuela have formed a new
group, a reference to Group of 2.

Iran and Venezuela formed Group of 2 to establish joint financial and
development institutes including banks and commercial firms.

He added that the group should be victorious in the current world system.

The Venezuelan president expressed his satisfaction with the
agreements reached between Tehran and Caracas in different political,
economic and cultural fields.

He termed the prospect of Iran-Venezuela bilateral relations as bright
and promising.
