KEPCO unit to build biogas power plant
SEOUL, April 7 (Yonhap) -- Korea East-West Power Co., a unit of the state-run Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO), said Tuesday it plans to build a biogas power plant in western South Korea.
The biogas power plant, the biggest of its kind in the country, will be built in
Dangjin, a port city 123 km southwest of Seoul and have a generating capacity of
1,500 kilowatt, Korea East-West Power said.
The company, however, did not give further details.
A biogas power plant generates electricity from animal and food waste.
