Death penalty sought for serial murderer
ANSAN, South Korea, April 8 (Yonhap) -- The prosecution demanded Wednesday the death penalty for Kang Ho-sun, who has been convicted of killing 10 women.
During a hearing held at the Suwon District Court, prosecutor Han Seung-heon
asked the court to sentence Kang to death, saying he has not shown any sign of
repentance for his ruthless crimes.
Han said the suspect should be isolated permanently from society in consideration
of the victims and their families.
Kang has admitted to killing eight women, but denied that he killed his wife and
mother-in-law. Prosecutors claim he set the fire that killed his wife and
mother-in-law in order to get insurance money.
