Seoul shares inch up in late morning
SEOUL, April 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.32 percent higher late
Monday morning as investor sentiment was cautiously optimistic over the
first-quarter earnings outlook, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 4.24 points to
1,340.28 as of 11:20 a.m.
Most shares traded in positive territory, led by financial and auto shares, with
foreigners being net buyers.
The Korean currency was trading at 1,336.9 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., down 3.9 won from Tuesday's close, as large-cap companies including Samsung
Electronics Co. and Hyundai Motor Co. were scheduled to pay dividends on Monday.
