KEPCO unit signs 3.5 tln won renewable energy deal

SEOUL, April 14 (Yonhap) -- Korea South-East Power Co., a unit of state-run Korea
Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO), said Tuesday that it has signed a 3.5 trillion won
(US$2.6 billion) preliminary deal to develop renewable energy with a local
builder.
Under the deal, Korea South-East Power and POSCO Engineering & Construction Co.,
a construction unit of POSCO, will build various types of power plants, including
wind farms, which will generate a combined 960 megawatts of renewable energy by
2015, the electric power company said.
