SK Wyverns signs new Japanese pitcher

SEOUL, April 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korean baseball club SK Wyverns said Tuesday
that it has signed on Japanese pitcher Ken Kadokura on a one-year contract.
Kadokura, 36, will play for the team until the end of the 2009 season for
US$200,000 with an additional $50,000 signing bonus, according to the club.
The former Yomiuri Giants right-hander has recorded 76 wins, 82 losses and 10
saves with a 4.36 ERA during his 13-year career with the Japanese professional
baseball league.
SK Wyverns, based in the port city of Incheon, west of Seoul, won the Korean
baseball league championship title for the second time in a row last year and has
been seeking a new pitcher to replace Canadian Michael Johnson who was ousted
last week for his slackening performance.
Kadokura is expected to join the squad sometime this weekend, the team said.
